Being Bold in your Faith

In this generation, it is definitely less common to have a relationship with God, let alone show it to the people around you. Whether you are new in your faith or have known God your entire life, it can be hard to bring it up or boldly live in your faith while nonbelievers are watching. Something that God is evidently showing me lately is the importance of living boldly in your faith and spreading His word in all kinds of situations.

God Moments

I like to keep an ongoing list in the notes app of my phone called “God Moments” where I write down all the cool things that happen in my life that I know are from God. A lot of these moments lately have had a common theme stemming from the idea of living boldly in my faith, so I thought it would be fun to share some of them!

At work, people know of my faith. I like to bring it up when I can, so all of my coworkers are aware of my relationship with God. I have recently had a lot of God moments at work not only with my guests, but my coworkers. I have had situations where I have talked to tables about their church and they have invited me to their service, and even times where tables have asked if I had any prayer requests before they pray over their meal.

I have recently had a lot of moments with my coworkers about God, which has been so sweet. I had one coworker have a table ask if he would want to go to church with them, and he ran up to tell me right away because he thought I would love to know. Recently, I had another coworker tell me they wanted to get into a relationship with God and wanted to get her first bible, and she asked me for my opinion on which one she should get. It’s little moments like these that remind me that God is always there and uses people in every aspect of life to show His love for us.

Another cool God movement happened earlier this week where my friend and I was out downtown reading our bibles outside, and a man came up to us asking if we were reading the bible. He ended up saying such sweet and encouraging things, saying it was good to see people in this generation living so confidently in their faith to read the bible out in public. After talking with him for a while, we ended up finding out he was the father of the boyfriend of a girl who was in a small group with me on campus! God not only used him in this situation to show his love through encouraging words, but also gave me a reason to reach out and reconnect with the girl in my small group, which was so sweet.

Live Boldly

These “God Moments” are things that really solidify my faith and remind me of God’s love for me and everyone else. The thing with these recent God moments is that they never would have happened if I weren’t living boldly in my faith. Of course it is great to have special moments in community with other believers (like in church or a small group), but when you have those moments with strangers who you don’t know if they have a relationship with God, it becomes even more special.

God uses His people to remind you of His love and your purpose, but sometimes you need to have a bold faith to truly see that. Take this as your reminder to get in the word, pray, and allow God to use you and other people to show you His love and presence.
