Living intentionally

Intention is defined as an idea that you plan to carry out. Over the past year, I have realized the importance of truly living intentionally. To a person who loves staying busy like me, the idea of having a full schedule sounds amazing. However, once a couple weeks go by and you realize that you didn’t even give yourself time to reflect on the amazing things that have happened to you lately, your mindset starts to shift.

At this time in my life, it is hard not to fill my schedule with things. Whether it’s a lunch date with a friend or a 3 hour study session for an exam, my google calendar seems to look like a coloring book as the week goes on. I love having these things to do, but I also never want to take them for granted.

In order for me to start living more intentionally, I love to set out time in my schedule for just me. This can look like watching the sunset or going to a restaurant by myself, but something that allows me to sit in silence to think about all of the blessings that are happening in my life.

Another thing I love doing is writing in my prayer journal and talking to God. I will sit with God and write out all the things I am thankful for that He is doing in this season of my life- think of it like a praise session! I also love the act of writing things down because I am able to look back on it in my future and remember all the things I was going through in that season of my life.

No matter what practices you take in order to live with more intention, I encourage you to take those steps to do so. Life has so many precious moments, don’t let them slip away.
