God Moves.
From January third through fifth, I had the honor of attending the Passion conference in Atlanta, Georgia. If you aren’t familiar with Passion, it is a christian conference for young adults where Passion brings in different preachers and bands to learn and worship.
On my drive home from conference, I wrote a list of my main takeaways in my journal so that I wouldn’t forget the way I felt. This blog post is a little deep dive and breakdown of that list!
The bible is the proof
There are many cross references in the bible that have occurred more than 1500 years apart from each other. If someone asks how you know that God is real, the answer is the bible and all of the instances that were predicted and fulfilled.
Jesus was ultimate sacrifice
Sacrificing animals used to be very common. Jesus died for us as the ultimate sacrifice which cannot even compare to the sacrifices of anything else.
Engage to be changed
This one works for pretty much everything. In order to expect change, you need to do something first. If you want to grow your muscle strength, you need to lift weights. If you want your relationship with God to grow, you need to spend time with Him and His word.
You have to go through Jesus to get to heaven and the Lord
Jesus is the way of getting to the Lord, nothing and no one else can do it for you.
You were made to live in relationship with Jesus
Jesus is like the air we breath. Don’t let someone or something pull you underwater.
God releases His glory throughout pain
While God shows himself through the greatness, He really shows up during the pain. God’s glory and peace shines through to you when you are struggling, to show you are not alone and always have someone with you.
The devil offers you something God already has planned for you in His time
There may be times that you feel like the devil is offering you a deal- “Stop following God and I’ll stop putting bad things in your life". The things that he wants to do are things that God was already planning on doing for you in His time. Let God work in His timing.
There is no “better next one”, there is just “new”
This is another one that can be used in many aspects of life. You shouldn’t search for someone to fill a job or role that exactly replicates the initial person. Each person has their own special gifts and talents, so you shouldn’t search for someone that is the same or better to replace another, just look for someone new.
