It's official! I graduated from college, which means it's the season of transitioning. From not having a set schedule with classes, to moving out of my apartment and back into my parents house, there is a lot of adjustment that needs to happen.
With all of these changes, it has been hard for me to be able to maintain the same priorities that I had a month ago like going to the gym and creating social media and blog content. Lately it's been easy to see all the things I'm not doing and be super hard on myself, but then I get to thinking about all the things that I am doing!
The Transitioning Period
This weeks post is all about the transitioning period. In our lives, we go through so many times of transition. Whether it's going into or coming out of college, starting a new job, beginning a new relationship, or starting a family, I think it's important to realize that it is okay to fall out of your normal routine and not always feel your best. There is beauty that comes from changing your "normal".
For example, one thing that I have learned through this transition period is that I really enjoy the ability to have my nights free to spend time with my friends and family. Something I never had in college was free nights. I always spent my nights in meetings, at clubs, studying, or at the gym. I never really had the flexibility to get things done early in the day and have my nights completely free, which is something I realize I truly value and long for in my day to day life now.
While it may feel exhausting to be doing things that are out of the ordinary for you, having to transition into a new way of life allows you to reevaluate your priorities and have a clean slate to do things that benefit you. You may not be able to go to the gym as much as you want, you may not be able to commit as much time to that hobby you love, you may not be able to hang out with your friends for as long, but you are working toward your best future self.
Give yourself grace. Remember you are not alone in feeling like you don't have everything figured out- no one does! You are working to provide yourself a great future, and that deserves to be celebrated, regardless of whether you are in or out of your current routine. You got this!!
