Learning to Prioritize Yourself
With 2024 ending soon, I started thinking about my goals for the new year. After writing some down, I realized that the majority of them revolve around and come from the idea of prioritizing myself. Within this past year, I feel like I have gotten really good at making myself a priority in my life and feeling my best. For this weeks blog post, I wanted to share my tips for prioritizing you!
Build a routine that you love & stick to it!
It is so important to find a routine that implements things that you love and stick to it. You deserve to fill your days with joy! It can take time to find things that you love and make you feel your best, so take time to experiment before locking it down!
Fill yourself with whole foods
My life completely changes when I started prioritizing a balanced diet filled with whole foods. One of the easiest ways to do this is cooking for yourself (which also saves you money and can be a new hobby- win win)! Whenever this gets hard for me to maintain, I try to remember and focus on only eating foods that God gave us (plants, animals, etc) since he knew it was good for us since the beginning!
Prioritize movement
Movement can mean different things for different people, but the most important thing is to find whatever movement makes you feel happy and satisfied! Moving your body is so important for your physical and mental health, and you deserve to find a way of movement that you love!
Give yourself personal time
Don’t sacrifice your time to recharge! As much as it is important to spend time with people, you also need to take time to yourself to grow your personal relationship. We need to take time to grow and become out best selves so that we can love people in the best way!
Surround yourself with people who fill your cup
Maintain friendships and hang out with people that you leave feeling whole. Quality over quantity is so real and you deserve to be surrounded by people that uplift you and help you become your best self!
Build a life for your future self
Any time you feel unmotivated, remember that you are building a great life for your future self. Whether its having less spending money because you are putting most of your paycheck into savings, waking up early so you can fit in a workout, or filling your schedule so you can maintain work and your hobbies- everything that may seem hard is just making your future self’s life better!
I hope these tips give some motivation to prioritize becoming your best self! You don’t have to wait until the new year to start- pick one goal and try to start implementing it so it’ll be easier this January.
